Details:

On Sunday, November 5, 2017, at 6:36 p.m., officers from the La Quinta Police Department, responded to the area of Washington Street and Rancho La Quinta Drive, regarding a vehicle collision in the area.  Officers arrived on scene within minutes, along with personnel from Cal Fire, and learned two vehicles had been involved in the collision. A driver of one of the vehicles, an adult male, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Four people were transported to local hospitals with varying injuries. One of those individuals transported was the second driver, an adult male. The male driver later succumbed to his injuries at a local area hospital. At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

The La Quinta Police Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is unknown. The victims’ name will not be released at this time, pending notification to next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
