On Sunday, May 5, 2019, at 7:29 p.m., officers assigned to the Temecula Police Department responded to the area of Margarita Road and Pauba Road, in the city of Temecula, regarding a major-injury traffic collision. The preliminary investigation revealed a red Honda Accord traveling northbound on Margarita Road in the number two lane of traffic veered into oncoming traffic and collided into a black Volkswagen SUV traveling southbound in the number one lane of traffic on Margarita Road.

The sole driver of the Honda Accord and the driver of the Volkswagen along with its two occupants were transported to a local area hospital for injuries sustained resulting from the collision.

The Temecula Police Department’s Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene to conduct this investigation.  This investigation is ongoing, and we are asking anyone with additional information to contact Deputy Opice at the Temecula Police Station at 951-696-3000.
