On Sunday, 01-18-10, at 0104 hours, Temecula Police officers were dispatched to Temecula Parkway, east of Jedidiah Smith, in the City of Temecula in reference to a major traffic collision involving two vehicles. The investigation revealed that a black Jeep Cherokee was traveling west on Temecula Parkway when the vehicle crossed the center median into eastbound lanes and collided with a Honda Civic. The Jeep rolled several times as the driver and sole occupant was ejected. The Honda sustained major damage and came to rest in the eastbound lanes of Temecula Parkway. The occupants of the Honda sustained major injuries and were transported to an area hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Jeep also sustained major injuries and was transported for medical treatment.
It appears that alcohol was the contributing factor in this traffic collision; however, the investigation is still ongoing.
