On Tuesday, January 02, 2018, the Region 7 Gang Task Force along with the assistance of the Riverside Auto Theft Interdiction Detail (R.A.I.D.) arrested Shawna Hernandez (28 yrs) while driving a stolen Ford F250 in the city of Jurupa Valley.  At the time of arrest, Hernandez was on probation for vehicle theft and released on bail.  Hernandez is a known associate of documented gang members involved in ongoing criminal activity to include vehicle theft, drug sales and weapons possession.  One of these associates, Christopher Rodriguez-Coronado (28 yrs) was believed to be actively involved with vehicle theft in the cities of Riverside and Jurupa Valley.  Rodriguez-Coronado is on probation for vehicle theft and had felony warrants for his arrest.

For the next several days, the R.A.I.D. task force conducted an investigation of Rodriguez-Coronado and his suspected criminal activity. R.A.I.D. determined Rodriguez-Coronado frequented the city of Murrieta and specifically associated with a residence in the 42000 block of Patton Place.  On Monday, January 8, 2018, at 3:50 pm, Murrieta Police located and arrested Rodriguez-Coronado in possession of a Chevrolet Silverado, stolen from the city of Riverside.   Rodriguez-Coronado was booked into jail for felony warrants, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property and remains in custody on $500,000 bail.

A short time later, R.A.I.D. and the Murrieta Police Department conducted a probation search at the residence on Patton Place. Three firearms were recovered, one of which was reported stolen, along with 1.7 pounds of methamphetamine and evidence of drug sales.  Samuel Huerta (40 yrs) and Maria Delgado (23 yrs) were arrested and booked for various felony charges to include violation of probation, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, methamphetamine sales, and conspiracy. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted in coordination with the Region 7 Gang Task Force, R.A.I.D. and the Murrieta Police Department. R.A.I.D. is a multi-agency task force comprised of law enforcement personnel from the California Highway Patrol, Riverside Sheriff’s Department, Riverside Police Department, Cathedral City Police Department, Murrieta Police Department, Riverside County District Attorney’s Office, National Insurance Crime Bureau, and the Department of Insurance.  R.A.I.D.’s mission is to investigate, arrest and prosecute criminals responsible for vehicle theft.  

The Region 7 Gang Task Force is one of eight teams composing the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, which is a collaborative effort of 25 law enforcement agencies with the goal of combating criminal street gangs throughout Riverside County. The Region 7 Gang Task Force is composed of members from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Probation and Parole.
