Fatal Traffic Collision, Motorcycle vs. Vehicle

Menifee, CA – Deputies responded to a traffic collision on Scott Rd @ Sweetwater Canyon Road, in the city of Menifee. The preliminary investigation showed a motorcyclist, a 26-year-old resident of Menifee, was travelling eastbound on Scott Rd and attempted to pass a vehicle travelling in front of him. The motorcyclist struck the vehicle, lost control of his motorcycle, and collided with a vehicle travelling westbound Scott Road. The motorcyclist sustained major injuries and died at the scene. The other motorists involved did not sustain any injuries.    

The Perris Station Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Scott Road between Murrieta Road and Haun Road was closed temporarily during this investigation and re-opened to traffic at 10:50 pm.
