On April 25, 2019, deputies from the Perris Station received a report of a theft of a horse within the 21700 block of Twin Canyon Drive in the unincorporated community of Nuevo. The horse was actually a miniature pony named, “Rumble.”  The unidentified thief forced entry into the property, and fled the location with Rumble. The investigation revealed the suspect cut through a chain linked fence and walked Rumble off the property to a waiting trailer.

Flyers were distributed and news of the theft was shared through various social media sites.  With the help of residents who recognized the pony from the flyer, information was developed that led to the recovery of Rumble.  Through the efforts of so many, investigators located Rumble at a nearby residence and reunited her with her owner.   The criminal investigation is continuing.

The suspect in the theft has not yet been identified, and we are asking for your help in identifying him. The suspect was  driving a black pick-up truck, possibly a Dodge Ram. If you have any information regarding this case, please contact the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210-1000.
