Update 03-15-2019:

Olivia Marie Kinnett

On Thursday, March 14, 2019, at approximately 2200 hours, the suspect was identified and arrested: Olivia Marie Kinnett, 42 years old out of Perris in the 26000 block of Guthridge in Homeland. Kinnett was booked for attempted murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, and a parole hold.

On Wednesday, March 13, 2019, at approximately 3:40 AM, Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s Station conducted an occupied vehicle check of a suspected stolen vehicle near the intersection of La More Road and West Metz Road.  As deputies approached the vehicle, the female driver accelerated toward deputies and a Deputy Involved Shooting occurred.

The driver fled the scene, and additional law enforcement resources were called to assist.  Deputies established a perimeter and began a search of the area. The investigation determined the vehicle was a previously reported stolen Chevrolet Trailblazer.  The Trailblazer was later located near the intersection of Diana Street and W. San Jacinto Avenue.  The vehicle was unoccupied and a search for the female driver was conducted. The suspect is still outstanding, and is described as a Hispanic female, 30 to 40 years of age, last seen wearing a dark tank top and blue jeans.  No deputies or citizens were injured during the incident.

Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit (CHU) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  The deputy involved in the shooting has been placed on administrative leave per Department policy.  The involved deputy's name will not be released at this time.  The Riverside County Sheriff's Department encourages anyone with information regarding the incident to contact Central Homicide Investigator Button at (951) 955-2777 or Perris Sheriff’s Station Investigator Negrete at (951) 210-1000.
