Details:

On Thursday, December 21, 2017, at 6:50 a.m., deputies from the Canyon Lake Police Department, along with the Menifee Police department responded to the area of Vacation Dr. and Yosemite Dr., regarding a multi-vehicle collision in the area.  Deputies arrived on scene within minutes, along with personnel from Cal Fire, and learned three vehicles had been involved in the collision. Three people were transported to a local hospital, one with major injuries and two with minor injuries. One of the drivers, a 29 year-old Canyon Lake resident, was later pronounced deceased at the hospital. At this time, drugs appear to be a factor in the collision.

The preliminary investigation revealed a vehicle was driving west bound on Vacation Dr. and veered into the eastbound lanes of Vacation Dr. striking an oncoming vehicle head on. The victim’s name will not be released at this time, pending notification to next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Officer Fraley of the Perris Station Traffic Team at (951) 210-1000.
