Four Drivers Arrested For Street Racing

Perris, CA - Officers from the Perris Police Department’s Traffic Team targeted illegal street racing this weekend. Specially trained officers patrolled the City of Perris looking for street racing violators. Officers cited 30 drivers with equipment violations related to illegal street racing. Eleven of those drivers were unlicensed and thirteen of those drivers had their vehicles towed. Each driver cited will appear before a Traffic Referee and face fines, rather than the standard equipment violation “Fix it ticket.”

Four additional drivers were witnessed by officers engaging in an illegal street race along a public road. There were no winners of this race. Each driver was arrested and his respective vehicle was impounded. Suspects Anthony Gonzalez, 25 years of Moreno Valley; Waseem Sabeh, 33 years of Banning; Mohammed Shaw, 26 years of Moreno Valley; and Khaled Syess, 21 years of Nuevo, were booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Facility in Murrieta.
