On January 19, 2010, investigators from the Perris Police Department received information about the possible location of a suspect wanted in connection with this incident. Investigators responded to 975 Morgan Street in Perris. The suspect, Travis Hicks (18 years old) of Perris was arrested at the location and booked into jail.

Details:
On November 25, 2009, about 9:30 PM, Perris Police officers responded to the 1400 block of Perris Boulevard, regarding a report of an Assault with a Deadly Weapon that had just occurred.
During the investigation, officers contacted the victim and witnesses. They said as they were walking to their car to leave the location, the suspect, carrying a handgun walked up to the victim, and without provocation pistol-whipped the victim in the head. The suspect then fired the handgun one time, but missed the victim. The victim had non-life threatening injuries and received medical attention at the scene.
