Herbert Wallace

On Friday, January 26, 2018, at 3:44 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department received a report of a single vehicle traffic collision on southbound Cook Street near the intersection of University Park Drive. Upon arrival, officers located a Toyota Echo parked in a nearby parking lot.

The investigation revealed the vehicle was occupied by a male driver and female passenger. The passenger was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The male driver remained on scene while receiving medical treatment. The evaluation revealed the driver, Herbert Wallace, a 39-year-old resident of Indio, was suspected of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Wallace was placed under arrest for DUI. He was transported to a local hospital for additional medical treatment.  Wallace will be booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio on charges of felony DUI. 

The cause of the collision is still under investigation and the investigation is ongoing. Anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station at 760-836-1600.
