On December 26, 2017, at 5:43 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department received a report of a vehicle versus a pedestrian traffic collision within the intersection of San Pablo Avenue and San Gorgonio Avenue. Upon arrival, they located an adult male on the ground and in need of medical attention.

Officers began providing medical aid and summoned paramedics to the scene. The male was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries. The investigation revealed the male was crossing the street within the crosswalk when a dark colored, possible minivan, ran a stop sign and struck the pedestrian. The vehicle can be further identified by the passenger side door which is a lighter shade. The vehicle fled the scene before officers arrived.
