On Friday, December 1, 2017, at approximately 9:48 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to an armed robbery at Ocotillo Dr. and Tumbleweed Ln. in the city of Palm Desert. The victim reported he was approached by two juvenile males, one of which was armed with a handgun. The  armed suspect demanded money from the victim. The juvenile males fled in a vehicle northbound on Ocotillo Dr.

The vehicle was later located traveling eastbound on Hwy. 111 in Indian Wells where six subjects were detained. A seventh subject fled on foot from the vehicle into the Indian Wells Country Club. After a containment perimeter was established, the seventh subject was apprehended.

Jaime Vasquez-Garcia, 19 of Indio, was booked into the County Jail in Indio for conspiracy to commit robbery while the remaining six juveniles, ranging in age from 15 to 17 years, were booked into juvenile hall in Indio for robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery. There were no injuries and this is an on-going investigation.
