On Saturday, November 11, 2017, at 9:34 p.m., officers from the Palm Desert Police Department, responded to the 73000 block of Hwy 111, Palm Desert, regarding a traffic collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.  Officers arrived on scene within minutes, along with personnel from Cal Fire.  The pedestrian, an adult female was pronounced deceased at the scene.  The driver of the vehicle was not injured.  At this time, it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.

The Palm Desert Police Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause of the collision is unknown. The victims’ name will not be released at this time, pending notification to next of kin by the Riverside County Coroner’s Office.
