On January 12, 2010, at 6:06 PM, officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at 74-040 Highway 111, Palm Desert, in the “Chop House” parking lot.
Investigators from the Palm Desert Station were able to identify two possible suspects in the robbery, and the investigation has been ongoing since the incident occurred.
On February 3, 2010, at 11:00 P.M., investigators located the persons of interest at the Fantasy Springs Casino and Hotel in the City of Indio. The suspects had obtained a room at the hotel under a female subject’s name, and were staying in the room. Jessie Valenzuela, age 36 of Thousand Palms, and Joe Valenzuela, age 37 of Thousand Palms, were wanted for felony warrants and were contacted by investigators at the room. After a brief stand-off, the suspects exited the room without incident.
Investigators obtained and executed a search warrant for the hotel room and located a semi-automatic handgun and a revolver, as well as drug paraphernalia.
Jessie Valenzuela, age 36 Joe Valenzuela, age 37 Joe Valenzuela was arrested for two warrants regarding a burglary and violating a restraining order. He is being held on $100,000.00 bail. Jessie Valenzuela was arrested for the felony warrant for an unrelated drug charge and violation of probation. He was additionally booked for robbery resulting from this investigation. He is being held at the Indio Jail on $55,000.
This investigation is continuing and the Department is asking anyone that may have information regarding the incident to contact the Palm Desert Police Department Investigations Bureau at (760) 836-1600.

On Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at about 6:06 p.m., officers from the Palm Desert Police Department responded to 74-040 Hwy 111 in the City of Palm Desert, reference an armed robbery call.
Palm Desert Police Department officers arrived within minutes and contacted the victims. The investigation revealed two adult males in the rear parking lot of the location were approached by two Hispanic male adults armed with handguns. The suspects robbed the victims of cash and jewelry. The suspects fled the location on foot, eastbound on Alessandro Drive. The victims were not harmed.
- The first suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s, with a shaved head, a goatee with a handlebar mustache, 5’9”, 170, wearing a black and white striped hoodie sweatshirt, dark shorts and armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
- The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male adult in his 20s, light skinned, 5’9”, thin build, wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt, long light-colored shorts and armed with a semi-automatic handgun.
This investigation is continuing. The suspects have not been located and they are considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information reference the incident is asked to contact the Palm Desert Police Department at 760-836-3215.
