Rito Marin

On June 28, 2019, at 5:32 PM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a disturbance within the 23700 block of Alessandro Blvd in the city of Moreno Valley. Initial reports indicated two Hispanic male adults were engaged in a verbal argument over personal property. The verbal argument escalated to a physical confrontation between the two Hispanic males.

As deputies arrived, they attempted to contact one of the Hispanic males. The male was identified as Rito Marin, a 36-year-old resident of Moreno Valley. Marin walked toward deputies and placed his hands into his waistband and fled the location on foot. Deputies pursued Marin and subsequently learned Marin had an outstanding felony warrant for his arrest.

Marin was located near the intersection of Heacock Street and Bay Avenue. While attempting to apprehend Marin, deputies deployed less lethal chemical weapons multiple times to gain compliance. Marin continued to conceal his hands in his waistband and refused commands to submit to arrest. Marin attempted to flee from deputies a second time and a physical altercation ensued. Marin was subsequently taken into custody without further incident. Marin was transported to a local hospital for a full medical evaluation and was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside for his warrant.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information regarding the incident is encouraged to contact the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station at 951-486-6700.
