Details:

On Thursday, February 8, 2018, just after 11:40 AM, officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to multiple reports of a shots being fired within the Moreno Valley Mall, located at 22500 Town Circle. Within minutes, officers responded and quickly began to investigate the incident. Retailers and patrons at the location were asked to shelter in place as precautionary lockdown measures were implemented.

Officers began a systematic search of the facility, searching for possible victims, suspects or involved parties. After a thorough search, officers lifted the lockdown. No suspects or victims were located.

At this time, the investigation revealed several unknown race males were involved in a physical altercation near the north entrance of the mall. The discharging of the firearm was a result of the altercation.  The involved parties fled the location prior to officers’ arrival. The investigation is ongoing and the Moreno Valley Police Department is asking for public’s assistance and urging anyone with information to contact them at 951-486-6700 or 951-776-1099.
