On Wednesday, December 27, 2017, Moreno Valley Police Officers conducted zero tolerance enforcement activities, assisted by our regional law enforcement partners in an effort to combat illegal street racing, reckless driving and other related traffic offenses. A marked increase in street racing related activity has been noted at several locations throughout the city in recent weeks, jeopardizing the public as well as participants themselves.
During the enforcement operation, more than fifty enforcement stops and vehicle inspections were conducted at various locations throughout the city.
Four felony arrests related to illegal firearm possession, child endangerment, possession of marijuana for sales and a parole violation were made. Fourteen misdemeanor arrests were made to include driving under the influence, exhibition of speed, reckless driving, multiple unlicensed drivers and misdemeanor warrants. Seventeen traffic citations were also issued for equipment related violations and other vehicle code violations. Eight vehicles were towed due to various vehicle code violations.
Ivan Pacheco, 20 years; Marcus Hynson, 40 years; Alex Pacheco, 21 years; Adam Hurtado, 20 years; Jonathan Martinez, 28 years; Eduardo Guevara, 19 years and Raul Horta, 32 years; all of Moreno Valley, were booked into Robert Presley Detention Center.
In an effort to keep the community safe, the Moreno Valley Police Department will continue operations targeting street racing activities and reckless driving.
