On December 01, 2017, at 5:09 P.M., officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a report of a major injury traffic collision at the intersection of Sunnymead Ranch Parkway and Lake Vista Road, in the city of Moreno Valley.

Officers from the Moreno Valley Police Department, Moreno Valley Fire Department personnel and AMR Paramedics arrived within minutes and discovered a vehicle had collided with a motorcycle.  The motorcyclist sustained major injuries, and was immediately transported by paramedics to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.  The driver of the vehicle did not sustain any injuries and remained at the scene of the collision.  It is unknown if alcohol and drugs were a contributing factor to this collision. 

Members of the Moreno Valley Traffic Reconstruction Team responded and are investigating this collision.  Northbound and southbound lanes of Sunnymead Ranch Parkway are closed between Via Pavon and Via Del Norte during this investigation, and are expected to reopened about 10:00 P.M.
