On January 5, 2010, at 12:40 p.m., Moreno Valley Police Officers responded to the Moreno Valley Mall, 22500 Town Circle, in the Sear’s parking lot to investigate an attempted armed robbery.
Officers spoke with the 65-year-old female victim and learned that a male suspect tried to rob her at gunpoint as she was walking to her car. The victim refused the suspect’s demands for her purse and the suspect fled the area in a purple PT Cruiser. Minutes later, officers found the PT Cruiser parked at a local car wash located at the corner of Heacock Ave and Webster Street. The suspect was arrested at the scene without incident.
The investigation was continued by the Moreno Valley Police Robbery Suppression Team (RST). RST officers discovered that earlier in the day, the suspect had carjacked the PT Cruiser from the City of Redlands. The suspect then drove to the Walmart Supercenter at 2663 Canyon Springs Parkway in the City of Riverside. The suspect robbed a victim of her purse in the Walmart parking lot before driving to the Moreno Valley Mall.
The suspect was identified as Brandon Humerickhouse, 28 years, of Highland, CA, and was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for Attempt Robbery, Possession of Stolen Property and Violation of Parole.
This investigation is continuing with additional criminal charges anticipated. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Jonathan Bodnar of the Moreno Valley Police Department, Robbery Suppression Team at 951-247-8700.
