John Bernard

On Friday, June 29, 2019, deputies assigned to Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Problem Oriented Policing Team (POP) conducted high visibility patrol along Riverside Drive, in the city of Lake Elsinore, in response to community complaints about drug related activity occurring in the area.

While conducting patrol in the area, deputies contacted 32-year-old John Bernard, a resident of Lake Elsinore and on active Riverside County probation.  During a search of Bernard, he was found to be in possession of a small quantity suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and 29 grams of suspected heroin. Bernard was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and violating the terms of his probation.  Bernard was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.

This is an ongoing investigation, and anyone with further information is asked to contact Deputy Beaudet at (951) 245-3300.

As a reminder, "Community Policing" involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff's Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
