Press Release: Fatal Hit and Run Traffic Collision

Details:

On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station responded to a hit and run traffic collision on the 19600 block of Palomar Road, Lake Elsinore. Upon their arrival, deputies learned an adult male was riding his skateboard near the westbound bicycle lane of Palomar Road.  The male was struck by a vehicle traveling in the westbound lane.  The driver briefly slowed and then continued west on Palomar Road.  

The male was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.   His name is being withheld at this time, pending notification of next of kin. The Lake Elsinore Traffic Team is conducting a full investigation into the cause of the collision. At this time, it is unknown if alcohol/drugs will be a factor in this collision.  Both directions of Palomar Road were closed for approximately 3 hours during the investigation.
