Agency: Riverside County Sheriff
Station Area: Lake Elsinore
Written Date: June 6, 2019 Time: 10:45 PM
Incident Date: June 6, 2019 Time: 08:30 PM
Incident Location: 22700 block of San Jacinto, unincorporated area of Good Hope
Reporting Officer: Sergeant Ray Ricken
File Number(s): F191570041

On Thursday, June 6, 2019, at 8:30 PM, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Station responded to an armed robbery at the Harb’s Market, located in the 22700 block of San Jacinto Avenue in the unincorporated area of Good Hope.  Initial reports indicated an individual was inside the business with an assault weapon.  It was learned the suspect demanded cash or he would “kill” the clerk. When the cash was not turned over quick enough the suspect, who was later identified as 41-year-old Jesus Rodriguez-Sandoval, from the Good Hope area, fled the location on a bicycle.

Deputies arrived and established a perimeter around the area where Rodriguez-Sandoval was last seen.  During the ongoing investigation, it was learned Rodriguez-Sandoval frequents a residence in the 40 block of Barbara Drive in Good Hope.  Deputies responded to Barbara Drive and located Rodriguez-Sandoval exiting a residential yard.  Rodriguez-Sandoval was taken into custody and the weapon used in the robbery attempt was located.

Jesus Rodriguez-Sandoval was booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center on the felony charges of attempted robbery with a firearm and criminal threats.  Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Christopher Frey or Deputy Jarrod Meissen at (951) 245-3300.
