Jesse York

On Monday, June 3, 2019, at 11:00 AM, deputies assigned to Lake Elsinore Station located a stolen 1999 Honda CRV at a carwash on Riverside Drive.  An adult male, later identified as 32 year-old Jesse York, was vacuuming the interior of the vehicle, which had been stolen from the city of Wildomar just four days prior.  York, who is on parole from a state prison sentence, fled on foot from deputies.  He was quickly apprehended after a short foot pursuit when additional deputies intercepted him at the intersection of Joy Street and Quail Drive.  York was taken into custody after a brief struggle.  Neither York nor the involved deputies were injured.

In addition to the stolen vehicle, York was in possession of a loaded and stolen .45 caliber handgun, additional ammunition, burglary tools, Methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia.  York earned an additional vandalism charge while detained at the Lake Elsinore Station, when he kicked the interior walls of a holding area and caused significant damage.  York was booked at Cois Byrd Detention Center on numerous charges related to the above-mentioned crimes as well as a parole violation.  Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Corporal Bob Thomas at (951) 245-3300.
