3 Arrested During DUI Saturation Patrol

Lake Elsinore, Calif. – Lake Elsinore Police Department arrested 1 subject on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol / drugs while conducting a DUI Saturation Patrol on April 26, 2019.  Two additional subjects were arrested for other criminal violations.

In addition, Lake Elsinore Police Department made 26 vehicle enforcement stops and cited 7 drivers for operating a vehicle without a license or on a suspended/revoked license.

Last year Lake Elsinore Police Department investigated 34 DUI collisions that killed 4 people and injured 11 others.

Drivers caught driving impaired and charged with DUI can expect the impact of a DUI arrest to be approximately $13,500. This includes fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspension and other expenses not to mention possible jail time.

Lake Elsinore Police Department reminds drivers that “DUI Doesn’t Just Mean Booze.” Prescription drugs, particularly those with a driving or operating machinery warning on the label, can impair and result in a DUI. Marijuana can also be impairing, especially in combination with alcohol or other drugs.

Lake Elsinore Police Department will be conducting another DUI saturation patrol on / around the weekend of June 6, 2019.

Funding for this DUI Saturation Patrol was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
