Press Release: Stolen Vehicle Arrest

Details:

On Thursday, April 25, 2019, deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the area of Grand Avenue and Bonnie Way, regarding a stolen vehicle.  Deputies located the vehicle traveling northbound on Lake Street, toward I-15.  The Sheriff’s helicopter was quickly overhead, and additional deputies responded to the area.  Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle on Temescal Canyon Road, west of Lake Street.  The driver stopped along the shoulder of Temescal Canyon Road and both occupants fled into the adjacent field.  Responding deputies established a perimeter to prevent the escape of the suspects.  Riverside County SWAT deputies and K9 units responded to the area to assist with the search for the suspects.  SWAT and the K9 units located and apprehended the suspects hiding in the thick vegetation.

Jose Franco Jose Yanez

The suspects were identified as Jose Yanez, 41 years of age, and Jose Franco, 35 years of age, both residents of Wildomar.  They were subsequently arrested and transported to the Cois Bryd Detention Center for possession of a stolen vehicle.
