On Tuesday, December 4, 2018, the Lake Elsinore Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing Team and Detectives from the Lake Elsinore Station’s Investigation Bureau, conducted an undercover theft suppression operation at The Home Depot, located at 18282 Collier Avenue, city of Lake Elsinore. This operation was in response to an increased number of calls for service related to theft in the area.

During the operation, officers arrested two people for theft of store merchandise. Robert Ordway, a 58-year old resident of Lake Elsinore, was arrested for petty theft. Additionally, Joseph Szymczyk, a 29-year old resident of Lake Elsinore, was arrested for petty theft, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center in Murrieta.

The Lake Elsinore Police Department will continue to monitor reported thefts and will conduct future operations to reduce theft from our local businesses. Anyone with additional information can contact Officer Beaudet or Officer Kramer at the Lake Elsinore Police Department.
