On Monday, January 29, 2018, at approximately 3:34 PM, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department located a stolen vehicle, a Silver 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, driving in the area of Highway 74 and Cambern Avenue, in the city of Lake Elsinore. 

As officers attempted to stop the Chevrolet, it fled at a high rate of speed attempting to evade officers.  The Chevrolet turned onto a dead-end street, in the area of Allan Street and Conard Avenue, at which time Officers saw the occupants flee on foot.

Lake Elsinore Police officers, quickly setup a perimeter and were able to detain a female (Juvenile) subject running away from the location.   The female was detained and subsequently released to her guardians.

While performing a search of the area, Lake Elsinore Police officer’s located a male adult, hiding in a field near the vehicle.  The male was later detained and identified as George Michael Marquez, age 19, a resident of Kingman, AZ, currently on Probation for vehicle theft.  Marquez was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.
