Details:

On Saturday, 01/23/2010, about 1126 hours, deputies responded to the 3500 block of Linnet Drive in the City of Lake Elsinore reference an attempt carjacking and strong arm robbery.

The victim was in her vehicle in front of her home when a white female adult opened her car door and attempted to drag her out of her vehicle. The female suspect was scared away by the victim’s boyfriend but only after the suspect had taken keys from the victim by force. Officers searched the area for the suspect and an officer located her in the 3500 block of Lakecrest Drive. As the officer attempted to detain the suspect she broke free from the officer, ran to the officer’s patrol vehicle and started to drive away. The officer reached into the driver’s side of the vehicle and attempted to stop the suspect as she drove away. He was dragged approximately 210 feet down Lakecrest Drive until he was able to gain control of the suspect and take her into custody.

The officer was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries he received during the incident. The officer was treated and released. The suspect, who was later identified as Jamie Kay Grady, 27 years old of Menifee, was booked at the Southwest Detention Center for the listed charges.
