On January 18, 2010, at 7:35 PM, officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to a large fight at the Harbor Grand Apartments. A single male victim had been brutally assaulted requiring extensive reconstructive surgery to his face. Investigators from the Lake Elsinore were able to identify two possible suspects, and arrested Tony Renee Dawson Sr. in the assault. Tony Dawson Jr. was also identified as a suspect, but fled the scene. The investigation into the assault has been ongoing since the incident occurred.
On Thursday, February 04, 2010, at approximately 1:00 p.m. Tony Renee Dawson Jr. was arrested without incident in the 24800 block of Hancock Ave in the City of Murrieta. Dawson was transported to the Lake Elsinore Police Department where he was interviewed. Dawson was later transported and booked at the Southwest Detention Center for Assault with a Deadly Weapon.
Tony Dawson, Jr., 19 Years Details:
On Monday, January 18, 2010 at approximately 7:35 PM officers from the Lake Elsinore Police Department responded to the Harbor Grand Apartments reference a reported fight involving approximately thirty subjects. Upon arrival the deputies located a male victim lying on the ground suffering from facial injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment and later transferred to Loma Linda Hospital due to the severity of his injuries (multiple facial and nasal fractures requiring reconstructive surgery). The suspects involved in the fight fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival and were identified as Rodney Earl Love, 20 years, and Tony Renee Dawson Sr., 38 years, of Lake Elsinore. Several witnesses were interviewed at the scene and advised the suspects kicked and punched the victim repeatedly about his face and body even after the victim was unconscious.
On Friday, January 22, 2010 at approximately 1:05 p.m. officers were again dispatched to the Harbor Grand Apartments regarding a call of shots fired. Investigators working on the assault case arrived on scene and recognized Love and Dawson Sr. who were involved in the assault on January 18, 2010. They were transported to the Lake Elsinore Station and later booked at the Southwest Detention Center for attempted murder, and battery with great bodily injury. One suspect is still outstanding who was involved in the assault, Tony Renee Dawson Jr., 19 years.
