As with any unsolved crime, law enforcement never closes the case and continues to seek answers. Today the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station is asking for your help solving a possible fatal traffic collision which occurred in the city of Eastvale.  

On Thursday, May 30, 2019, at 2:40 AM, deputies assigned to the city of Eastvale began an investigation at the intersection of 68th Street and Tarah Street. The investigation is a hit and run collision turned fatal. Officers learned a male juvenile was located in the roadway. Witnesses believe a sedan possibly struck the juvenile. Due to the time of evening, witnesses did not provide many details about the sedan, but stated it fled the scene and was never located. The juvenile was pronounced deceased at the scene. The day’s tragic events took the life of a young man, Anthony Gaitan, and his family mourning his loss.

The commitment to the investigation has never diminished and the Jurupa Sheriff’s Station is asking for your help.  All information and previous leads the public provided have been exhausted and the traffic division for the police department is encouraging anyone with information to come forward and contact them at 951-955-2600.
