On Friday, January 29, 2010, at about 7:20 a.m., deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to a report of a home invasion robbery that had just occurred at a residence in the 8800 block of Chumash Court, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Glen Avon.
The investigation revealed that the homeowner was confronted by three or four armed suspects when she went out to her driveway to leave for work. The suspects identified themselves as police officers, and then forced their way into the residence at gunpoint. The suspects demanded cash, jewelry, and other valuables from the victims.
The suspects ransacked the home, stealing cash and electronics from several rooms. The suspects then fled from the location. An alert neighbor witnessed a black Ford sport utility vehicle leaving the area, and it is believed that this vehicle may be involved in this incident.
All four suspects were described as Hispanic males, approximately 30 to 40 years of age. The suspects spoke to the victims in a combination of Spanish and English. The suspects were armed with both black and silver colored handguns. The suspects were dressed in all black clothing.
The investigation into this crime is continuing. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective John Negrete at the Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.
