Update 01-19-10:

During the investigation, investigators learned that Reyes made statements he wanted to return to Mexico. Reyes has been known to hitchhike and ride freight trains out of the area. Based on this information it is believed that Reyes is possibly headed south toward the border with Mexico.

Additional Description Deetails: Reyes has a scar on the bridge of his nose.

Details:

On Friday, January 1, 2010, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station responded to a residence in the 9400 Block of 53rd Street, Mira Loma, reference an endangered missing adult. Family members reported that twenty-three-year-old Edgar Ivan Reyes, has not been seen since December 27th, 2009. It was reported that Reyes has a limited mental capacity, which is comparable to that of a young child. Reyes was last seen running southbound from his residence.

Reyes is described as follows:

Edgar Ivan Reyes – 23 years
Hispanic Male Adult
Height: 5 feet, 6 inches
Weight: 180 pounds
Black Hair – Brown Eyes

Last seen wearing a green shirt, a gray sweatshirt, brown pants & brown shoes.

The responding deputies conducted an extensive search of the residential neighborhood. Several other resources were also utilized to determine if Reyes had been contacted by any governmental or medical facilities, however, Reyes was not found. Reyes has no remarkable features, wears no jewelry, and has a scar on the bridge of his nose. Reyes’ family also stated that he is very shy and lacks the ability to care for his basic needs.
