On Friday, January 22, 2010 at about 12:34 p.m. officers from the Coachella Police Department responded to the Super Ranch Meat Market located at 1632 6th St., in the city of Coachella, reference a robbery alarm.
Coachella Police Department officers arrived within minutes and found a robbery had just occurred at the location. The investigation revealed a subject dressed in dark clothing entered the market, brandished a knife at a clerk, and took an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect left the location on foot in a northbound direction.
Officers contacted witnesses who saw the suspect running towards a residence on 3rd St. Officers soon located the suspect, later identified as Ricardo Gonzalez, 19 years of Coachella, at the 1600 block of 3rd St. The suspect was positively identified as the suspect who committed the robbery at the Super Ranch Meat Market.
Gonzalez was also identified as the suspect who had entered the same market at about 10:53 a.m., grabbed two six-packs of beer and walked out without paying.
No one was injured during the theft or robbery incidents.
Ricardo Gonzalez was taken into custody and will be transported to the Indio Jail where he will be booked for Robbery.
