On Thursday, June 27, 2019, at approximately 10:34 PM, Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, San Jacinto Station, responded to a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian at State St. and Ramona Blvd., San Jacinto. Upon arrival, deputies located a collision involving a vehicle and a Hispanic male. Preliminary investigation revealed the vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old male from San Jacinto was traveling northbound on State Street when it collided with an unknown Hispanic male transient, who was crossing the street. The collision caused major injuries to the unknown Hispanic male (John Doe) who was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel and transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in this collision. Identification of the Hispanic male is pending notification of next of kin. The investigation to determine the cause of the collision is ongoing, and anyone who witnessed the collision or has further information is asked to call Deputy Ramon Cortez of the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Team at (951) 654-2702.
