On Monday, June 17, 2019, at 6:49 PM, deputies responded to the 40000 block of San Ignacio in the unincorporated area of Hemet known as Sage, in reference to a missing person call for service. Deputies and investigators began their investigation and determined foul play may have been involved. Central Homicide Unit members responded and assumed the investigation.

During the course of the investigation, Edgar Mancia, 27 years old out of Sage was arrested for murder and booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
