Details:

On Friday, May 31, 2019, about 5:05 PM, deputies from the San Jacinto Police Department responded to the area of San Jacinto Avenue south of Commonwealth Avenue in the City of San Jacinto regarding an injury traffic collision.  Upon arrival, deputies located a burgundy, Toyota Camry and a black, Yamaha motorcycle in the exit driveway located on the east side of San Jacinto Avenue.  The rider of the motorcycle was located on the east side of San Jacinto Avenue.  Medical personnel from Cal Fire arrived and the motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Witness statements and physical evidence at the scene indicate the motorcyclist was riding northbound on San Jacinto Avenue at a high rate of speed.  The driver of the Toyota was traveling southbound on San Jacinto Avenue, entered the left turn lane and proceeded to make a left turn into the driveway located on the east side of San Jacinto Avenue (Walmart shopping center parking lot).  As the Toyota drove across the northbound lanes of San Jacinto Avenue the motorcycle collided broadside with the vehicle.  Driving under the influence of alcohol and or drugs is not suspected as being a factor in this collision.

The San Jacinto Police Department’s Collision Reconstruct Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.  Northbound San Jacinto Avenue between the Walmart Entrance and Commonwealth Avenue was closed until about 9:45 PM.

This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Deputy Rutigliano with the San Jacinto Traffic Team at 951-654-2702.
