On Thursday, January 4, 2018, the San Jacinto Unified School District and the San Jacinto Police Department hosted an Active Shooter Training Exercise at the San Jacinto High School.  Personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department worked in tandem with the CAL FIRE \ Riverside County Fire Department, to present a simulated Active Shooter Scenario to the faculty of the school district to better prepare them for an actual event.  Representatives from local allied agencies also participated in the event.

Dr. Karen Kirschinger, Director of Student Support Services for San Jacinto Unified School District said, “As the agency liaison for our District Emergency Response Team, I am always happy to partner with our first responders in this type of training.  This was a great experience for all agencies involved.”

Thank you to all who participated in the event to help make our communities safer.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department and Cal Fire are committed to the safety of the community and will continue to train together to be prepared to handle crimes of this nature.  We would like to remind everyone to be cognizant of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity or persons to law enforcement.
