On November 22, 2017, at 1:08 AM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department responded to the Linda Vista Mobile Home Park, located at 45055 E. State Highway 74, Hemet, regarding a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, two suspects were seen running from one of the residences.  After a brief chase on foot, deputies located one the suspects hiding in the bushes, where he was taken into custody.  The second suspect fled the area without detection.

Based on the string of serial burglaries occurring in the area within the past few months, Investigators from the Hemet Sheriff’s Station responded.  Investigators identified seven additional residences the suspects had burglarized in the prior months.  Investigators served two search warrants related to the investigation, and took into custody the second male who fled the area.

Mikel Cunning Isaiah Townsend

The suspects were identified as 18-year-old Isaiah M. Townsend and 18-year-old Mikel C. Cunning, both from the Vale Vista area of Hemet. The suspects were booked at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility on charges of burglary and conspiracy.
