On Monday, January 25, 2010, at 8:50 AM, officers from the San Jacinto Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary in-progress at a home located in the 300 block of East Shaver Lane in the City of San Jacinto. The owners of the residence reported they just arrived home and found their house had been broken into with several items taken.
Neighbors informed the officers that the suspect had just fled into another home nearby on East Shaver. The officers located the suspect, Leif Herrera, 21 years old of San Jacinto, in that home and took him into custody without incident. The officers also recovered the victim’s stolen property inside the house. Herrera was arrested and booked into Smith Correctional Facility for burglary.
