On Tuesday, March 5, 2019, at 3:30 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force conducted a follow-up investigation into a kidnapping and assault that occurred in the city of Coachella on March 3, 2019.  Gang Task Force Officers located the suspect, Christian Ortiz, 25 of Coachella in the area of Highway 111 and Cook Street in Palm Desert and arrested him without incident.  Ortiz was subsequently booked at the jail in Indio for Kidnapping, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Child Endangerment.
