On Thursday, November 15, 2018, at 10:30 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force served a weapons related search warrant near the 52000 block of Nelson Street in the city of Coachella. During the service of the search warrant, a 17-year-old juvenile was found to be in possession of a loaded handgun and narcotics. The juvenile is a documented criminal street gang member. Gang Task Force Officers seized a loaded .22 caliber revolver, ammunition, methamphetamine and heroin. The juvenile was charged with being a minor in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of firearm while in possession of narcotics, and possession of narcotics for sale. The juvenile was booked at Juvenile Hall in Indio.
