On Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at about 2:41 pm, members of the Blythe Narcotics Enforcement Team (BNET) served a narcotic related search warrant at a residence within the 400 block of Alice Ln, in the city of Blythe.

As result of the search warrant, BNET members located approximately two pounds of methamphetamine and heroin combined, two firearms, one of which was stolen, and several rounds of ammunition. Ubaldo Amaya, 47 years old of Blythe, was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of a stolen firearm, firearm serial number obliterated, possession of ammunition, possession of heroin for sales, possession of methamphetamine for sales, possession of controlled substance while armed, and committing a felony while out on bail. Amaya was booked into the Blythe Jail.

BNET is a multi-agency narcotic task force participated in by law enforcement agencies in the Blythe, Palo Verde Valley area. BNET's primary mission is to disrupt narcotic sales and diminish the availability of those drugs, thereby increasing public safety. Citizens are encouraged to report drug activity or information that could lead to the arrest of subjects involved with any criminal activity.
