On Tuesday, June 04, 2019, at 3:36 AM, deputies from the Moreno Valley Police Department responded to a reported battery at a residence located on the 17000 block of Bronco Lane, Moreno Valley. Deputies arrived within minutes and detained a 25-year-old male suspect, who was in front of the residence. The male was cooperative and complied with deputies’ instructions. While being detained, the suspect went into cardiac arrest and deputies immediately began lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived. The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

Per Department policy regarding in-custody deaths; investigators from the Moreno Valley Police Department and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the scene and assumed the investigation which is still on-going. The suspect’s name is being withheld pending family notification.
