On February 5, 2019, at about 3:00 p.m., investigators assigned to the Jurupa Valley Station were contacted regarding a body that was found in Pueblo Nuevo, Mexico. Investigators worked with Calexico Police and learned the victim may have been kidnapped from the Jurupa Valley area prior to being killed. Through the course of their investigation, the victim was identified as Rosa Isella Beltran Lopez. Jurupa investigators soon identified a suspect they believed to be responsible for her murder. On February 18, 2019, Juan Carlos Lopez Alvarado, a 44-year-old male and the husband of Rosa, was arrested for her murder.  There are no outstanding suspects, and no threat to public safety. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call Investigator Martinez of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station at (951) 955-2600.
