Suspect Arrested 02-23-15:

On February 20, 2015, Juan Javier Mejia was located and arrested in Mexico. Mejia was transported back to the United States and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside.

Suspect Information June 28, 2013:

San Jacinto Police officers and deputies from the Hemet Sheriff Station, Region 3 Gang Task Force, and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the campus of Mt. San Jacinto Community College in the 1400 block of N. State Street in the city of San Jacinto. At 12:00 PM, police received information that a wanted murder suspect, Abram Daniel Palacios, 24, was observed on the college campus. The campus and an on-site day care center were temporarily locked down while a search of the campus was conducted. Mt. San Jacinto Community College is currently not in session and no students were on campus. The suspect was not located during the search.

Abram Daniel Palacios, age 24 of San Jacinto, and Juan Javier Mejia, age 39 of Hemet, are both wanted for murder in the shooting death of 23-year-old Ivan Ibarra Carrillo, of San Jacinto. The murder occurred on June 6, 2013, in the city of San Jacinto. Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and the San Jacinto Police Department are currently working the case. No arrests have been made. Anyone with information regarding this case is encouraged to contact Investigator Alfaro with the Central Homicide Unit at 760-393-3500.

Update:

On June 24, 2013 after an intensive investigation, Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit obtained arrest warrants for two men wanted in connection to this homicide investigation.

Abram Daniel Palacios, age 24 of San Jacinto, and Juan Javier Mejia, age 39 of Hemet, are both wanted for murder in the death of Ivan Ibarra Carrillo. Carrillo, age 23 of San Jacinto, was shot and killed on June 6, 2013 in the city of San Jacinto.

On June 6, 2013, at about 7:10pm, deputies from the San Jacinto Station responded to the intersection of Las Rosas Rd. and Osprey St. regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival they located a male victim seated inside a vehicle at the location. The male victim had sustained multiple gunshot injuries. Medical personnel responded to the scene and attempted life saving measures, but the victim succumbed to his injuries. At this time the victim has not been positively identified.

Detectives from the Central Homicide Unit and the San Jacinto Station are currently working the case. No arrests have been made.
