On Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 2:39 PM, deputies from the Cabazon Station, responded to the 29000 block of San Timoteo Canyon Road, in the unincorporated area of Redlands, reference a person who had been stabbed.  Upon arrival, deputies learned a 50-year-old male, had been stabbed during an altercation at a residence.  The male was transported to an area hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

The suspect was identified as 50-year-old, Fernando Garcia, of Yucaipa.  Garcia fled the location prior to deputies arriving to the location.  A search of the area was conducted, and Garcia was apprehended by deputies.  Garcia was arrested and charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon and booked into custody at the Smith Correctional Facility in Banning.
