Jesse Martinez Jr., 32 years Details:
On January 24, 2010, at about 1:17 A.M., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Cabazon Station were dispatched to a residence in the 14600 block of Cabazon Street, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Cabazon, regarding a request for medical aid for a child. Emergency medical personnel responded, along with deputies, and located a three-year-old child that appeared to not be breathing. The child was transported by ambulance to the San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. Injuries to the child indicated he was the victim of homicidal violence. Investigators from the Cabazon Station and investigators from the Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
Investigators arrested the child’s step-father, Jesse Martinez Jr., a 32-year-old Cabazon resident for child abuse causing great bodily injury (273ab of the California Penal Code) and murder (187 of the California Penal Code). Jesse Martinez was booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.
