Details:

Sheriff Stanley Sniff is encouraging men and women to become part of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program. This volunteer program provides the department with additional law enforcement resources to better serve the residents of Riverside County.

Sheriff Stanley Sniff said, “I started out as a reserve police officer on a city police department and understand full well the value of volunteer service to our communities. Our department, just as many other law enforcement agencies across the state, is facing budget constraints and we are encouraging men and women interested in serving as reserve deputies to join our ranks. For those interested in full-time careers, service as a reserve deputy may well be an important stepping stone to a full-time career in law enforcement, just as it was for me. Your service as a reserve deputy helps protect our communities and it adds to the safety of our full-time deputies by beefing up our ranks.”

The Reserve Program provides the opportunity for personal growth and education. Reserve Deputy Sheriff assignments may include patrol operations, various special programs, events and other assignments at the direction of Sheriff Sniff. Reserve Deputy Sheriff duty time is served on a flexible schedule to meet individual needs. Openings are countywide.

Please visit our Reserve Deputy Sheriff Program web pages for more information about level descriptions, qualifications and the selection process, or contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department by calling 888 JOIN RSD (564-6773). Riverside County has a diverse population. Spanish speakers are strongly encouraged to apply.
