Information developed in this ongoing homicide investigation identified three potential suspects.
On Thursday, January 7, 2010, two of the suspects, Cecilia Morin, 23 years and Christina Zapata, 39 years, both from Thermal, were arrested and booked at the Indio Jail for Robbery and Murder.
This investigation is continuing and anyone with information can contact Sr. Investigator Robert Masson with Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777. Callers may request to remain anonymous.

On 12.20.09 at 9:44 am, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Indio Station, responded to the area of Avenue 58 and Pierce St. in an unincorporated area known as Thermal, in reference to two deceased individuals.
Deputies arrived and discovered the bodies on a dirt trail within a vineyard. The preliminary investigation revealed the decedents were victims of a homicide. Homicide investigators were called to the scene and assumed the investigation. The identities of the victims are unknown at this time.
